Day-to-day life can get a bit boring after a while. Wake up, class, work, home, repeat. After a while, everything starts to feel the same, but the fact is that it's not your routine that is the issue; it's how you are moving through it.

Romanticizing your routine doesn’t mean changing your whole schedule; it just means making your days feel a little better, even when you’re busy.

Here are 7 simple ways to do that:

1. Start your day with something that’s just yoursBefore you get on your phone to respond to texts or emails, take a few moments in the morning to do something just for you. Think of making a good coffee, spending some time journaling, or spending time outside.

2. Be more present in the in-between moments

Put your phone down. Whether you are getting ready in the morning or walking to class, use that time to disconnect. Slowing down and disconnecting for even 10 minutes can make all the difference in your mindset.

3. Give yourself small reset momentsIt is okay to give yourself a break. If you have been studying for the past 2 hours, going on a walk, making a snack, or even just spending a few minutes in silence can make your day seem less overwhelming.

4. Switch up your environment when you canMake your routine more fun. Try different coffee shops and study spots, or visit a new park for a walk. Find joy in the little moments throughout your day.

5. Make your evenings feel more intentionalInstead of ending your day by scrolling, try doing something that actually helps you unwind, like reading, journaling, or watching something you enjoy without multitasking.

6. Stop rushing everythingNot everything needs to be done as quickly as possible, and even a slight slowdown can completely change how your day feels.

7. Let your routine evolveYour routine doesn’t need to be perfect or stay the same forever; it’s allowed to shift based on what you need.

Romanticizing your routine isn’t about making it look perfect; it’s about making it feel like something you actually enjoy.
